Happiest Hat Contest

Before you even start reading, I should apologize for not having this written and posted weeks ago.

Early last November, one of the members of the 12 months = 24 hats Ravelry group gave me an idea. She had commented on another member's hat saying it was a “happy hat”. It was indeed a hat that would make the wearer happy, but was it the "happiest" hat possible? I decided to have an end of the year contest to find out.

The rules of the contest were quite simple. Make what you think is the happiest hat possible and post a picture of it. The contest ended December 31st at 11:59pm and was judged by family, to determine the winner. The first hat posted by Sandy a month later and was quite spectacular. A blue, teal, and white Anemone Hat that just made you smile. Several other members also posted great hats, but our hands down winner was Kim Fluck's Look out! There's an Octopus on Your Head! Does this hat not make you just giggle? Kim's prize was a couple skeins of Berroco Comfort DK, a notepad to keep track of pattern modifications, a Halos of Hope project bag, and a copy of Hattitude by Cathy Carron.

I'll be hosting another Happiest Hat Contest, but most likely in August when people are not so busy with gift giving projects.  For now, enjoy a giggle or two, courtesy of Kim.
